USPS アメリカの郵便

今日はアメリカの郵便のうち、Return Reciptというサービスについて書いてみたいと思います。

アメリカの郵便局は、The United States Postal Service (U.S. Postal Service、USPS）と言います。
USPSのウェブサイトによれば、Return Receipt は、配達証明を発送者に交付してくれるサービスです。私は重要な書類を郵送するときはこのサービスを申し込むようにしています。なお、アメリカでは郵便事故が多いです。日本のような感覚でいると、痛い目にあいます。

Return Reciptのサービスは、以下の場合に使うことができます。

• Express Mail® service pieces
• First-Class Mail®, First-Class Package™ Service, and Priority Mail® (excluding Critical Mail™) when purchased at the time of mailing with Certified Mail™, Registered Mail™, COD, or Insured Mail (for over $200 ) service.
• Standard Mail® pieces subject to the residual shape surcharge, when bulk insurance (for over $200 ) is purchased at the time of mailing
• Package Services pieces, when purchased at the time of mailing with COD or insurance (for over $200) service.
